Is there an easy way to blend out text in an image?

To be honest, I don't understand what you are trying to do.

If you want to 'clean up' the text of stray pixels, then please use the Plugin AA's Assistant.

  1. Open the image.
  2. Activate the Magic Wand Tool :MagicWandTool:
  3. Lower the tolerance in the toolbar to 29%
  4. Click the dark area on the left to select all of it
  5. Press Ctrl + C to copy the selected pixels.
  6. Paste into a new layer with Ctrl + Shift + V
  7. Flip the layer with Layer > Flip Horizontal
  8. Flatten & save
