project a 2d image into 3d space

Hello, folks,

I really need your help, is there a plugin/extension/method that allows one to trace a 2d image and convert into 3d splines that can then be  used to create 3D models???

I know there are several apps the will extrude simple models, but, I am looking for some to assist in making splines along complex shapes like along this ships hull/superstructure.

Something like project a 2d image into 3d space, where you extract splines to create 3d models from the splines, or to close the loops it were.

Please note that I had to put the model in xray mode, and the lines are not accurate.

In short, no. There are a number of online services which will attempt to create an STL from an image. You could try one of those.
