jchunn Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 That is absolutely cool, so don't take this as critisism... BUT... If you really wanted to take it to the next level, you could add some "ripples" to the water where the rain is hitting it in the foreground. I know... easier said than done... but that would be very cool. Quote Total hack.
journey Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 The Example pic in the tut is so pretty! Quote [Fisheynugget!]
eric809327 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 here's mine - I added lightning I also made the clouds, lighting, etc. look more like it would while it was raining. This is a great tut. Tell me what you think. Quote
Cybernetic Dragon Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 nice tutorial man, i'll try posting my result later. Quote
Reese50 Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Cool! Now I'm writing a tut on making animated snow. Here are my results: Horse in meadow w/ rain and lightning: Horse in meadow w/ rain Meadow w/ rain Quote Hi. Yes. No. Uh-huh. Of course. Well, I don't know what you're sayin', but if you wanna leave a message at the beep...

DarkShock Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 This tutorial really taught me something, thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I think you should try making your rain less intense though. Quote ---- Gallery | Sig Tutorial | deviantART | Sig Videos | PhotoBucket ----D E S T I N Y
DarkShock Posted February 23, 2008 Author Posted February 23, 2008 The tutorial has now been updated to be more beginner friendly. Quote ---- Gallery | Sig Tutorial | deviantART | Sig Videos | PhotoBucket ----D E S T I N Y
-Arch- Enemy Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 i cant get it to work for some reason i think its the part where i have to copy and paste the layers into their own images Quote
Benji222 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Hello, Im fairly new to this place, although I have been stalkign it in a way for a while (looking up tuts). When I use Unfreez, it makes my picture distorted and patchy. This happens when I save as a Gif w/ paint.net, why? Quote
Glaga Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Just used luminosity curves into (65,190) then used default glow, =D Quote
souvikdas Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 This style was too cool dude!!! This is what I made! Quote
Glaga Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 i made the rain more noticable and the lightning is improved! Quote
DarkShock Posted April 7, 2008 Author Posted April 7, 2008 i made the rain more noticable and the lightning is improved! I think you should make the rain less intense because it looks like too much. Your original image also looks too blurry. Good work though and thanks for using my tutorial. Quote ---- Gallery | Sig Tutorial | deviantART | Sig Videos | PhotoBucket ----D E S T I N Y
Project Spartan Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Very nice job on this tutorial. Looks a lot like real rain. And I like the image you used for the example; fits the rain perfectly. Overall, I give your tutorial a 9/10. I also would like to make a minor correction about your tut... On Step 7, you have listed to go to "Effects > Blue > Motion Blur," but, to my knowledge, there is no "Blue" sub-section. I figured out that you meant Blur pretty darn quick, but some.... "Beginners" might not; since you are aiming towards a more user-friendly/beginner-friendly tutorial. Good Job, though. 8) Quote -Xbox LIVE Gamertag: L1ke 20 N1njas I have switched to a new account: ~L1ke 20 N1njas~
Stixxer Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 my image flickers...... i followed each step exactly.. i have the rain but some black bars are popping up.... Quote
KamoKronos Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 This tutorial works great, and is really easy to do! Thanks. It also works well with making images that are "on fire". With a few exceptions, but it has a similar concept. Nice tut! Quote
DarkShock Posted June 8, 2008 Author Posted June 8, 2008 my image flickers...... i followed each step exactly.. i have the rain but some black bars are popping up.... Flickers? Make sure that the frame delay in UnFreez is set to zero. Also: if your intern connection isn't that well than rain images tend to flicker. Quote ---- Gallery | Sig Tutorial | deviantART | Sig Videos | PhotoBucket ----D E S T I N Y
ChitoDog Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Nice tut, here's my shot at it with a little lightning effect. Any way to make the raindrops a little bit thicker btw? :? Quote
