Always Visible Colors Window

Hi,

 

It'd be easier for me if the Colors Window was always visible.

 

Is this possible?  So that the Colors window is always displayed somewhere and sort of "active" at all times?

 

I checked here https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/ColorsWindow.html and here https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/MainWindow.html but didn't see this addressed directly.  Some way so that the Colors Window is always open - or some summary of it showing what's active WITHOUT needing to open it / F8 each time.

 

Possible?

Just don't close it ... ? I don't understand the problem here ... it's already always visible unless you close it. 🤔

My best guess after reading the post a few times is that the OP is asking if the Primary and Secondary color can be displayed somewhere other than a floating color palette. As an example, color swatches in the status bar or main toolbar.

 

Could be misreading this. The OP wants more screen real estate and is currently toggling the palette (F8) but just wants the two active colors displayed only (some where).

Resetting the Colors Window

The window can be reset to its original position and size (including docking) by pressing Ctrl + Shift + F8

After  reading your post, I tried to remember where did I see similar feature to show primary color only. It is Art Rage, so I made a quick mock-up for paint-net:

If you want to toggle the visibility of the Colors window, simply press F8.
