When i try and move or resize a image or a work or anything it just disforms it, it has not done this before but after updating Paint.Net (it would be the second previous one from now) it just hasnt wanted to work, i tried reinstalling it but nothing has worked, i asked a few friends who also use it but they dont know as they never seen that before, hopefully someone can help.

Here is a video of what im referring to.

1.  Which version of paint.net are you using at the moment?

2.  Are you using the Shift Key when you try to resize?

3.  Is your Paint Bucket set to Solid Color?

This looks like a GPU driver bug. Make sure you have the latest version of your GPU's driver installed.

If you want, you can post the diagnostics information and we can point you in the right direction. Go to Settings (gear icon at top right of main window) -> Diagnostics, then click on "Copy to clipboard" and then paste it here in a reply.

1. 5.0.2, it was the latest it gave me.

2. I tried doing it with and without it, ive done it without it countless times with no issues.

3. Yea.

It started doing this after it gave me the update before the 5.0.2

Nothing on my PC has given or shown anything in which i would need an update on anything, it started doing this after the update that came before 5.0.2 and before them i had no issues, it actually worked the day before, 1 day it worked then the next i got the update and then on the same day after the update was done it started doing it, unsure if it because of the update or not honesty.

In your video, you are grabbing one of the end points to change the height/width of the element (hand icon). If you want to move, icon should look like a cursor (cross with four arrows at the end, default windows move icon). You can see it at 0:02 in the video.

I meant move and resize, forgot to add resize lol

Just noticed in your video, file dimensions are 21000x21000 pixels. Maybe that and GPU/drivers are an issue.

Yes it's a GPU issue. The 5.0 update started using the GPU for this specific functionality, whereas earlier versions (e.g. 4.3.12) did not. If you are getting graphical issues here then it is almost certainly a GPU and/or GPU driver issue.

Also, you can verify that it's a GPU and/or GPU driver issue by changing the "rendering device" to the CPU in Settings -> Graphics. This is only meant to be for troubleshooting, mind you, as it will make many effects and adjustments run very slowly. (The Move Selected Pixels tool will also run significantly slower)

This is a band-aid, not a solution.

Did you even read what I said🤔 The fix is easy, no need to revert to an older version.

It appears it was not a good solution, at that point i was trying to do anything to get it to work for certain reasons but now something else has occurred.

The error with the long list is what occurs when i try to open Paint.net now and the second one occurs when i try and uninstall it.

Sounds like you have an existing paint.net installation that has become broken. Please use this utility to remove the broken installation:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed

Afterwards, you should be able to install paint.net anew.

In that screenshot, you'll see a drop-down list "Performance (AMD Radeon RX 6600)"... change that to "CPU" to see if your problem goes away.

If it goes away, you know that the problem is with your graphics driver--you should upgrade your graphics driver to fix the problem.

If it does NOT go away, switch the setting back to "Performance" and we look for another cause of the problem.

Because you're not paying attention. I gave you the answer two weeks ago but you ran off and did your own cowboy stuff instead.

It seemed to have worked, would have to do a good amount of work and such to see if it fully worked but for now it seems like it.

OK, so now you know that your video drivers are the problem.

You really don't want to leave your setting on "CPU" as this runs really slowly compared to a "Performance" video card.

What you need to do next is research how to get updated drivers for your video card. (Sorry, can't help you there.)

Once you update your video card drivers, try putting your settings back to "Performance" to see if the updated drivers fixes the problem.  If this doesn't work, you can always change your settings back to "CPU".   But, getting updated drivers is worth the trouble.
