dave987
I have installed Paint.net on a classroom but when you exit the application it says there is an update available. The students always press yet but the update fails. I assume as the URL is blocked in school. Is there a specific list I can add to the allowed list to enable to the update to progress? Tactilis
What is the message you get when the update fails? You could simply download the the latest version from https://getpaint.net and install that.
Pixey
Hello @dave987 and welcome to the forum It's just possible that if you download the portable version, that prompt may stop: https://github.com/paintdotnet/release/releases 1 Quote How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon. dave987
Thanks for the quick replies... much appreciated! I presume that the update file is hosted on GitHub? Github is blocked in school via the school web filtering system. If there is a specific update file URL I could add that to the allowed list and enable the updater to download the file. Rick Brewster
Yes the file is on GitHub. You'll need to make sure GitHub is not blocked. Why a school would block GitHub makes no sense to me ... it's one of the most educational websites on the planet The update files will have URLs such as https://github.com/paintdotnet/release/releases/download/v5.0.2/paint.net.5.0.2.install.x64.zip So you'd probably want to un-block https://github.com/paintdotnet/release/releases/download/* Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
