How do I install older versions of Paint.net?

I accidently updated from version 4.3 to version 5.0 and want to go back but every time I try to install paint.net using an older version of the launcher it automatically goes to version 5.2 and I don't know how to make it install the version I want. Any help would be appreciated.

No support is provided for older versions of Paint.NET. From the forum rules:

7) You must be using the latest version of Paint.NET, available here. This is a requirement. If you want to stay with an older version then that is your right, but we cannot help you. If you are unable to upgrade, then please post in the troubleshooting section.

Then can you direct me to another program that acts similar to version 4.3?

Paint.net version 5.0 acts similar to 4.3.  Why do you think otherwise?

(September 25th, 2023)  Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue.

I came here looking to revert to 4.3.12 as well. I love 5.0.2 and the effiencies it brings, however, I rely heavily on BoltBait's Outline effect, and the newest version of the plugin eliminates the transparency slider, which is crucial to my work. I use a lot of small text in designs for sublimation, and having the ability to outline with the "A" value at 20 provided exactly what I needed. The most narrow outline setting with the newest plugin version does not work for what I am doing. Simply using bold text does not produce a satisfactory result, either. I've tried uninstalling the newest version of the plugin and then installing an older version, however that older version is (of course) not compatible with pdn5.0.x, but hey, I got to witness the nifty new plugin error message in action! Can anyone suggest a workaround?

Someone else made a post about that in BoltBait's plugin pack thread for PDN 5.0:

Thank you kindly for referencing the other post. The "broken" functionality worked well for me, and others, I see. I'll have to figure out a different way forward.
