GREAT tutorial. I just started using Paint.NET yesterday, and the exploding planet was the first thing i've made. Took me a while to firgure out what to do, but I think they came out alright. Still need to practice though :)

Hey everybody... Im new on this forum and on Paint.NET!! I mean Im THE BIG n00b!! :D So I started reading tutorials so I can learn, and this is my first picture worth of showing.... Hope that it's good!!!! :)

A nice easy to follow tut, with a great effect :shock:

Awesome. I played around with some other effects like fragment and curves to change the colours.

I'm brand new to Paint.Net and think this tut is excellent, it's really versatile. I've had no success using a lightning photo (it ends up a complete blur or a clear disk), but this is the effect I got with water droplets :)

Nice, simple tutorial. I'm pretty new with PDN, and this has taught me a bit about blending modes.

I'm using this as my desktop wallpaper at the moment (hence the 1680x1050 res)

The only thing I did differently to the tutorial was to use shape3d instead of bulge.

If you can't find mud you can use the fire effect or the clouds effect and crop a circle out of it.

It works the same.

I imagine this is what the sun would look like as it explodes sometime next year...
