How to start a fire with Paint.NET

This looks an awful lot like a flame thrower! With some modding that would make a great effect!

The flame thrower might be kind of complicated. I created the line using the gradient tool, I think. It's been a while since I did it but I remember that it was pretty easy to do. One of the mods or programmers on the first page of this tutorial suggested playing around with some of the tools.

I'm trying to put together another picture that approximates a savage windstorm. Maybe if I use different colors in the Curves tool.

Psst! mustang maverick!

Your avatar is too big. Max width -> 100px!

Kckelly it's totally cool, it really seems like parchment!

Welcome! :P

No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*—just like that—he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio

The author of this tutorial suggested playing around with round gradients, so I made...

... a fire-sphere. Because, well, I like spheres. :D

Looking at it now, I think I should have made the highlights more transparent, but I stupidly didn't save the .pdn before I merged the layers, so, oh well. I still think it looks nifty. Great tutorial!

I never had a clue what to do with Photoshop.BUT NOW I HAVE FOUND HELP WITH Paint.NET. :D

Thanks guys. I owe you some'ing.

The image in my sig was too big so a mod removed it.

I should probably read the rules.

Does anyone have any idea how to get a blue fire with the same sort of flames and everything?? One of my friends asked me to get a blue fire for him to use in one of his sigs for a forum he uses a lot......

Thanks for any ideas pics or tips!!

I think i found a way to edit my previous fire into blue flames... just had to play with hue/saturation adjustments...

Any ideas on how to make one from scratch though?

Dr K, do the same thing as the tutorial says, just when it gets to the curves part change it so that the blue curve is above the green & the red ones.

Hope that helps :)

Son, someday you will make a girl happy for a short period of time. Then she'll leave you & be with men that are ten times

better than you can imagine. These men are called musicians. :D
