chuckmaui
Why can't I open a file (created and saved) in Paint.net? When I go to "Recent Documents" (or Open Files) I can see the thumbnail of the File, but when I click to Open it - it says "cannot open this type of File." Myrddin
What image format was it? A JPEG, BMP, PNG, or one that isn't built-in like PSD? Quote How to Save Your Images under Different File Types My dA Gallery

david.atwell
Did you use any periods in the filename? Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... david.atwell
Rename the file wherever you saved it to remove the period. See if that helps. If not, you'll need to turn off "hide file extensions" (in Folder Options) and add the ,JPG extension manually. When you put periods in the save as field, the save dialog won't append the filename, because it assumes that you already did it. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... chuckmaui
THank You. You put me on the right path, although I had to go at it slightly different. I could only open file in an Internet Explorer, then I had the option to email picture to myself. Then, at that point I could "save as" - how I wanted it. Thank you again! david.atwell
Glad you got it figured out! :-) Yep, just keep the periods out of the Save As... box. :-) Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior...
