Solution otuncelli Posted July 22, 2022 Solution Share Posted July 22, 2022 There is a security setting in Windows that can prevent certain programs to access certain directories. "Pictures" is one these protected directories. Press "Win" key (opens the Start menu) and type "Controlled folder access" and click on it. You can turn this setting off or add "PaintDotNet.exe" to its allowed list: 2 1
IHaveNoName
Another solution is not to save to C:\Pictures at all to avoid such unwanted MS 'security' issues. Create a Pictures folder on your secondary HDD or attached storage (HDD/SSD/flash drive) and save stuff to that instead. With USB 3.0 or better the read/write speed to the alternative internal or external storage device is only marginally slower at worst and can be faster with USB 3.2 particularly if your primary drive is a HDD.
