archlingo
hello, HUNDREDS of add-ons and plug-ins extremely slow down the loading time of my paint.net. Many of these I never loaded being exactly informed about their content. This is, e.g., the case with the effect "photo.../Foto" However, there is no dll or exe with that name in the whole data set and the programmers do not betray the user how to deinstall their unusable programs. At a page about installing addons/plugins there is neither the desired impressum not an hint for deinstalling. It is a pity! Any help welcome and I bet I am not the only one archlingo
BoltBait
When looking at the Effects or Adjustments menu and you see a little, green puzzle piece () you can uninstall that plugin by deleting the file shown in the tool tip (pointed to by the red arrow below): Quote Click to play: Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and how about a Computer Dominos Game
Rick Brewster
What version of Paint.NET are you using? Make sure you're using the latest version. I massively optimized plugin loading awhile back Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html

Sometimes a Plugin author will not give you the 'individual' .dlls, instead installing a bunch automatically. Like in Curtis Black's Plugins: in order to get rid of one, you have to remove his effects: Quote How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon. archlingo
This is true but the easy case and not solving my question, in which case the dll notification does NOT appear. Again, in my "Photo/Foto case even the term does not appear in in the whole source, even seeking with AgentRansack. archlingo
archlingo
hello, Pixey, thanks for the half-clarification, but of no help here, because e.g., the sub-term "portrait" does not appear anywhere in the sources. archlingo.

If you're referring to the Soften Portrait effect, it is not a plugin and can not be removed. 1 Quote My Gallery | My Plugin Pack Layman's Guide to CodeLab
ardneh
You can rename the Effects folder to OldEffects, make a new Effects folder and copy over only the plugins that you actually want.
Pixey
Some Plugins are 'built in' to paint.net and can't be removed: 1 Quote How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon.
