sh0sh1n
Perhaps related to this unresolved thread, but I wasn't sure of the rules on necroing old threads, so I've started a new one. This is also somewhat different as I am working on a file that is 900x900 with only 4 layers. My machine is an i7 8700 w/32GB of RAM, running the latest version from the standalone installer (not the Win10 Store one) and I haven't ever experienced this issue in the past. I can't locate safe links for Windows 10 PE so I can't send a performance report until I can find a good place to download the installer. For now I have taken a video capture that shows the issue manifested
Rick Brewster
By chance do you have Animations disabled in the app Settings? This doesn't sound like a performance issue per se, but rather the Layers window just isn't redrawing itself. I bet if you "jiggle the handle" by resizing the window a little, it'll repaint itself (well, once). Rick Brewster
So, a performance trace only helps if there's CPU usage -- in the video you stated that PaintDotNet.exe isn't showing up in Task Manager as using up CPU time. So this definitely lends to the theory that this isn't a "performance" problem, but rather a redrawing bug. Check your Animations settings in Settings, see if toggling that around helps things. (if it does help, that doesn't mean I don't need to fix something, but it does give me more information to work with) Also, can you post the diagnostics info from the app? Settings -> Diagnostics -> Copy to Clipboard (button at bottom) Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
