Preview without having to save?

They say there is no dumb questions... 🙂

Is there a way to instant preview without having to save? I mean seeing what it would look like when project is flatten and no more transparency checkerboard showing up. For now I save on desktop, go open image then come back to paint.net and press Z to unflatten. Having a single key press to fullscreen preview would be great.

You could add a layer at the bottom of the stack and fill it with white.

This would allow you to show/hide the transparency checkerboard by changing the visibility of that layer.

The small increase in performance you get coding in C++ over C# is hardly enough to offset the headache of coding in the C++ language. ~BoltBait

Ctrl + Shift + C

Ctrl + V (Paste) into any app that will handle an image (Word, Google Doc, etc....).

If you do the filled-layer-as-a-background trick above, you can clear the utility windows by pressing F5, F6 F7 & F8 together. The same action toggles them back on.

Was more looking into a key that when pressed would do a fullscreen (no tools) preview at the same time.

It could be a very useful feature!

Currently selecting all, copying merged, pasting to a new image and saving then opening in a viewing program like 'FastStone image viewer' seems to be the best option to see a full size preview. I think an easier option would be popular and appreciated - if possible and practical, from a coding point of view... and @Rick Brewster's to do list seems to be getting ever longer 😉.
