HELEN
Welshblue: Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. I really didn't spend much time on the roses, to tell you the truth. Well, it took me overall, about four hours. ------------------------------------------------ Oma, I really appreciate your kind words. Kemaru
 Very beautiful. Very beautiful, they look so real! A little rough around the edges, but it's not very disturbing. worldnewser
Nice roses! Did you have a photo reference? Also, I like your sig. I wished there was an easier way to make heart shapes besides stock outlining or freehanding lines. I can't freehand lines that well... HELEN
I had a photo reference, of course. I forgot where, though. I googled "red rose" or something like that. The heart, however, was Oma's original creation, but she let me use it. I tweaked the color a bit. Boude
The roses look great, any chance of a few tips, or are they too complicated? Quote History repeats itself, because nobody was paying attention the first time.
HELEN
I had only seven layers when I made the roses. I drew it freehand on paper, scanned it in and kept that as one layer. The second layer, I painted around and inside the rose that I scanned in with red. On the third layer, I drew in the shadows with a thick paintbrush more on the inside and on the fourth layer, I drew in shadows that are outside of the rose. I worked back and forth with the layers. So, I went back to the third and fourth layers choosing the shadows and then hiding the layers so only the the selected areas are chosen, which I filled with a darker gradient set as the Primary color and secondary color was transparent. On the sixth and seventh layers, I added the highlights and then flatted the image and smudged the rose a bit. Phew! You can PM me with questions. Glad you visited!!!! Quote Don't spit into the well, you might drink from it later. -----Yiddish ProverbGlossy Galaxy Ball---How to Make FoliageMy Gallery PDN Fans--My DA
LFC4EVER
 Awesome roses Helen! Fantastic Astonishing job!! One thing.. add a background. It looks incomplete sort of. Another thing.. The rose on the right.. the bit at the bottom is "messed" up. Move its layer to left a bit so its covered up by the darkest middle rose. (yeah, i know how you composed the 3 roses - sort of ) Awesome job once again. KIU! Quote ☆★☆★Merry Christmas★☆★☆ .::.My Gallery.::.Make Gold Text!.::. Lance McKnight
^^ What LFC said . Your rose looks good. Why don't you add stems to each rose and put them in a vase? Quote Officially retired from this forum. Have a nice day.

LFC4EVER
Great Fantastic job on the Teddy Bear. Really good, and the bow is a nice touch. The 2 lines splitting the arms and the body look a bit out of place, instead of them, there should be a dark-ish shadow. Maybe add a highlight on the nose? I also suggest darkening some of the other shadows in places too. They're a bit hard to make out now.. Great job though! KIU. Quote ☆★☆★Merry Christmas★☆★☆ .::.My Gallery.::.Make Gold Text!.::. HELEN
Thanks, Oma and Minoeman. @Welshblue: It is a "she." Now why do you say it's a wise bear? @Janettsue: Is something wrong? HELEN
@Storm.Shadow: You asked me twice, so I used my glossy hearts and made her a balloon.
