wacher
When you use Layers->Rotate/Zoom to rotate you can select Preserve Background, is it possible when using Move Selected Pixels and right mouse button to rotate?
MJW
No. You'll need copy-and-paste the selected pixels into a new layer to do that. I suppose another method is to first duplicate the layer, do the rotation in the upper layer, then merge the two layers.
Rick Brewster
There's a workaround. After switching to the Move Selected Pixels tool, Ctrl+Click anywhere. You'll see a new history entry for Move Selected Pixels, but nothing will happen. Then you can rotate the copy. edit: Actually you shouldn't need to Ctrl+Click. Should work fine if you just hold down Ctrl while doing that first rotate (or any other type of transform action). 2 Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
MJW
Shows what I know. Holding down Ctrl works perfectly. Not even really a "workaround" since it's so easy and does exactly what's desired.
