i personally think they did the right thing. the government shouldn't keep secrets from the public

It not the goverment keeping secrets from the public. She may be a goverment employee but her mail is her property not yours. Thats like saying every city worker, cop, teacher, and what no out there should not have any rights to privacy.

How would you like it if you were getting E-Mails from your best friend, your GF, or even your doctor and before they got to you, they were put out to the public for everyone to see. Oh look Noodlez Doctor says Noodlez needs to take pills for ..., oh look Noodlez GF sent him some pic's, what a looker of a GF, oh look Noodlez friend want Noodlez to start up a business with him and his idea never been done before.

If the E-Mail was a work E-Mail then it's contents become the property of the company and that still does not make it public as it now private to the company.

See this is why I use my own E-Mails accounts belonging to me and only not hotmail or yahoo.

- 1 from the No as I clicked the wrong one. I ment to click Yes. I hope USA has the same thing we got for hackers, 10 years max for hacking and another 10 years max for missing with file data.

This is someone's private life. Should the government release the details of every member of the public that it has collected into the public domain?

Actually, she was using it for government work. Inane stuff, but still government information. The hackers were wrong in any case.

Noodlez: How would you feel if carjackers took your car (hypothetically), and then justified it by saying 'you shouldn't be hoarding it, that everyone should be able to use this car'?

Let's re-reformulate it.

Should hacking Palin's e-mail be against the law?

I say NO, because nobody freaking cares. McCain has chosen an incompetent vice president, and due to John's health conditions I feel that he's not gonna hold out those 4 years very ably, during which he would need to call on a vice. Even based upon that I would vote Obama, or just not vote at all.

McCain has chosen an incompetent vice president,

I never knew the right to privacy was dependant on competence.

You should have read the context. I was explaining why nobody cares. The nobody caring is ofcourse sarcasm, since at least 1 or 2 people do care.
