Hello, my friend has problem with installing Paint.net and this is what it showed what does it mean and how to fix that?

Paint.NET tried to download the latest version and for some reason that download failed.

There are lots of things that could be wrong.

• Your internet is not connected (Check your connection--are you able to visit other sites)
• Your virus scanner is blocking internet access for Paint.NET (add Paint.NET to your virus software white list)

And... less likely...

• Your Windows is broken (run "SFC /scannow")

Looks like it was trying to download some prerequisites that you normally would already have gotten through Windows Update. Maybe it's a fresh install of Windows 7?

 

Make sure you're up-to-date with Windows Update. Also, and I highly recommend this, don't use Windows 7 or 8.1. Upgrade to Windows 10/11.

 

Paint.NET will not be supporting Win7 or 8.1 in the near future ("support" as in "it won't work at all").
