crash893
Please add Paint.net to the available packages for Windows package manager "Winget" I think this would be a great integration for the software its like ninite with even less steps
toe_head2001
@crash893 The Winget team accepts community contributions, so why not do this yourself? https://github.com/microsoft/winget-pkgs#submitting-a-package Quote (September 25th, 2023) Sorry about any broken images in my posts. crash893
1) its not my software and I didn't want to be rude 2)I wouldn't want to create and submit a new package for each build 2a) if it was built into there build workflow it wouldn't be that much more effort
Rick Brewster
I'd rather you just get it on the Microsoft Store if you want to have easier package management and fully automatic updates. crash893
I don't think winget would stop that. also its not free on the store I think also it makes it easier for IT departments to script it into new builds also it does do automatic updates
Jerry
I too wish for this excellent software to be available on Microsoft's official Windows Package Manager "winget". The winget community is capable and willing to add applications themselves, but it is currently not possible with paint.net because paint.net installers are released within .zip files. Please consider releasing paint.net installers as .EXE or .MSI so that the winget community can add it to winget. Rick Brewster
I think winget just needs to add ZIP support. I'm already publishing numerous package types, with long builds times and gigabytes to upload. It's already a lot to keep track of. All they have to do is unzip the EXE and do what they'd normally do for an EXE. 1 Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
