[solved] Can't install the Paint.NET

Recommended Posts

I have a new computer, where I'm trying to install paint.net 4.2.16. Every time when I'm trying, I got an error message what says: Error launching installer. NSIS Error.

I have tried to install it via cmd (administrator) and tried older version 4.2.13, but with no difference, same error still presents.

I have win10 pro and it has latest updates. Computer is HP Zbook Firefly 15 G8, i7-1165G7 and 32GB ram.

Hello @temule and welcome to the forum :)

Please try this first:

Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed (microsoft.com)

and then try again to download anew to see if it helps.

Hi @Pixey, I'm sorry to say, but that tool didn't find any problems. I have tried to download installation file couple times, even one little bit older version, but it didn't  help.

@toe_head2001, I am using F-secure. But it is not giving me any messages.

It's worth a try to add the PDN download address to F-secure's 'allowed' sites.

Hi, problem solved. For some reason I couldn't install it from download folder. I moved it to root of c:\ and installed it from there. I don't know why, but this solved the problem.
