space 3
I had long been using “paint.net 4.0.3” on Windows 10 until “4.0.3” stopped working properly. I downloaded “paint.net 4.2.16” from “dotpdn.com”and attempted to extract it into “C:\Program Files\paint.net”. Results are 1) a folder named “Staging” containing “PaintDotNet_x64_214659886.msi” 2) the message “Fatal error during installation.”, code 1603. In Forums, “Common Install / Uninstall / Crash Problems and Solutions!” says run a diagnostic but strikes it out; one is left somewhat at sea. I still have in “C:\Users\Owner\Downloads”, two copies of the downloaded installation files “paint.net.4.2.16.install.zip”, and a folder named “paint.net.4.2.16.install (1)” containing “paint.net.4.2.16.install.exe”. My Device Specifications: Device name DESKTOP-NNEG5DC Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz Installed RAM 20.0 GB Device ID 93BA7FFF-570F-4003-99AD-F987B8548D29 Product ID 00326-10000-00000-AA579 System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display My Windows Specifications: Edition Windows 10 Home Version 20H2 Installed on 2/19/2021 OS build 19042.985 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.2020.0 I should like to get running “4.2.16”.
