I have a photo where the shadow of the phone is right on the main subject, see attached picture. How do I go about getting rid of the shadow? I have tried selecting, copying to a seperate layer and changing the brightness and contrast, but I don't get a good result.

I'm fairly new to Paint.net and image editing in general, so please assume little prior knowledge 😉

This always a tricky situation.  Please take a look at this Tool called the Clone Stamp Tool.
