how to make an image less pixelated

i removed the background from a picture of a helicopter and made the helicopter one color but it looks pixelated

i was wondering how to make this image smoother or can paint.net not do that (if not then what are other ways)

Depending on your starting image you might get a better result using a different method for removing the background.

 

You can improve the image that you have by applying Gaussian blur at default, duplicating the layer twice, merging layers and running AA's Assistant plugin effect.

 

The remaining jaggy edges on the horizontal rotors  can be reduced by making a Rectangular selection around the parts of the rotor you want to smooth and using Motion blur.

For this particular image the Basic Anti-alias plugin here seems to work slightly better than ardneh's suggested more general approach. Welcome to the forum 1nf1n1ty !

Hi @idesign  Boltbait's Feather plugin can be found in his pack here:

 

 

It's in the OBJECT menu, but you must be running the latest version of paint.NET.

@idesign Open Paint.NET and look in the upper left-hand corner. The version number will be there. The latest version is 5.0.11.

I only see File, Edit View...etc. there

Hi @BoltBait thanks. I already downloaded it, just can't find it under Object. @lynxster4 I understand. I don't see all those under that menu. Some reason mine is different.
