midora 229
I'm wondering a bit that if people are adding new topics they do not appear immediately in the topics panels. Is this by design of the forum sw or does it depend on a setting? In the moment I can read several comments which indicate that they are up to an hour old but they do not appear in the Topics panel. null54 774
The topics panel does not include any pinned/featured topics. ardneh 82
Lately I've noticed that there will be links on the Home page indicating a new post. Click on the link and the new post isn't there. It might take considerable time before the indicated post is actually available.
NSD 65
I have the same problem when I post a message on the forum. After logging out, it only appears on the forum page after a few hours.
midora 229
@NSDYeah, there seems also the issue that if you are not logged in everything is delayed. But I thought this was to give the logged in people a little advantage. But I also recognized that the counter in the topics panel is incremented but then there are no new emails (I'm using Firefox)
toe_head2001 1,836
If you're not logged in, the site loads from a cache. This is done to reduce strain on the database server. This is not unique to the Invision software; it is a standard practice for most websites nowadays. Quote My Gallery | My Plugin Pack Layman's Guide to CodeLab

Maybe @null54 pointed to the right direction. Have to observe it. 1 hour ago, null54 said: The topics panel does not include any pinned/featured topics. Is there a reason for this exception? I'll change the setting to include pinned and featured topics. We can always revert the change, if the results are undesirable. 1 1 Quote My Gallery | My Plugin Pack Layman's Guide to CodeLab
Pixey 4,934
I've noticed too what everyone else points out. I've always thought it was my browsers being slow 🤔 Quote How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon. NSD 65
https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/ is the site I visit a lot. Here things are going normally, the posts are immediately visible and it is a site with much higher traffic than the paint.net forum.
toe_head2001 1,836
You can avoid the cached information by staying logged in. 54 minutes ago, NSD said: Here things are going normally, the posts are immediately visible and it is a site with much higher traffic than the paint.net forum. They're no doubt paying a lot more for a higher tier server. Quote My Gallery | My Plugin Pack Layman's Guide to CodeLab
