Topics panel on main page not in sync?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering a bit that if people are adding new topics they do not appear immediately in the topics panels.

Is this by design of the forum sw or does it depend on a setting?

In the moment I can read several comments which indicate that they are up to an hour old but they do not appear in the Topics panel.

@NSDYeah, there seems also the issue that if you are not logged in everything is delayed. But I thought this was to give the logged in people a little advantage. But I also recognized that the counter in the topics panel is incremented but then there are no new emails (I'm using Firefox)

If you're not logged in, the site loads from a cache.  This is done to reduce strain on the database server.  This is not unique to the Invision software; it is a standard practice for most websites nowadays.

(September 25th, 2023)  Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue.

This is not really an issue. Maybe @null54 pointed to the right direction. Have to observe it.

The topics panel does not include any pinned/featured topics.

Is there a reason for this exception?

I can't think of any valid reason.

I'll change the setting to include pinned and featured topics.  We can always revert the change, if the results are undesirable.

You can avoid the cached information by staying logged in.

Here things are going normally, the posts are immediately visible
and it is a site with much higher traffic than the paint.net forum.

They're no doubt paying a lot more for a higher tier server.
