Americancritic
Hello Is there a way to create a wedding ring in paint.net. I have not been able to locate a tutorial on this yet. Has anyone on the forum created one yet if so could you guide me in the right direction. Thank you for any help you can give...
Ladybug
@Americancritic, I am sure others can give you excellent instruction on making a perfect 3d shape to start with. As for the gold color, I have been dabbling in that metal look. I sometimes like to use the following plugins that you might want to take a look at for the perfect shine and gold smoothness: 🔷 Creative Text Pro found in Effects/Text Formations/ - You will have to click on apply to object instead of text. Under Texture you will find different options. Just play around with the gold choices to get the look you want. 🔷 Metallize found in Effects/Color/ - Play around with the sliders for the effect you want 🔷 Gradient Mapping found in Adjustments/ - Prior to using you will have to load the Effects Presets that contains the gold choices. Then when you change the default you can play around with your look. 🔷 Glow found in Effects/Photo/ - Play around with it to see if it enhances the shine of your gold ring If you don't have these installed you will have to install the plugins. Once you install, close and reopen the program so you can see the plugins. Quote Click HERE to see my Pictorium of images I have worked on. You were once wild here. Pixey
Here is a tutorial that will give you an idea of how to get shiny/metallic things @Americancritic which is from a member on here named @yellowman. Whilst it is and older tutorial, many of the plugins, which will have been updated, will work the same way. Instead of the heart shape, you could draw out a circle instead. Ladybug
I learned a new way to make a gold ring! Thank you @ANONYMISS. I was not sure where to apply the Shape3D plugin after using the Render Torus since I was not getting the same effect so I just skipped it. But using Shape3D alone without Torus also renders a nice ring. I like how simple getting the base color is with just starting with a flat "yellowy" gradient. My steps involved Rotate by Torus, Applied Noise without grayscale, Metallize and Glow. Quote Click HERE to see my Pictorium of images I have worked on. You were once wild here. Ladybug
@Americancritic, I gave you the gist of what I did. Just try and play around with things until you learn how the plugins work to your benefit. I know some plugins took me a while to understand them and there are still some I stay away from since I just don't get. Its all a learning experience. ardneh
@Ladybug I think that the .xml file goes in Documents\paint.net User Files. @ANONYMISS If you archive the .xml in a zip file, the forum should accept it. Ladybug
Thank you very much, @ANONYMISS. Will place it with the other Effect Presets and see how it works. Ladybug
@ardnehthanks, that is what I figured later. I will see if what I did works since my presets are divided into folders named after each of the plugin's it applies to. I just created a folder for G'MIC-Qt and saved it there. If it does not work, I will uncover how where to place it! Quote Click HERE to see my Pictorium of images I have worked on. You were once wild here. Ladybug
@ANONYMISS, @ardneh, yep it worked. I just placed the xml file right on the root of Documents/paint.net User Files and worked like a charm. Thanks everyone. Learn a little bit here and there!
