Hatori360
I have been experiencing intermittent bugs in two areas of the user interface in the main window. Specifically, the tabbed list of thumbnail images and the layers window. There are no crash logs when I check for issues. I copied the diagnostic log. There are no error messages. The issues do not occur every time. It does not matter how many images I am working with or how many other MS Windows apps or browsers are open, the problem is unpredictable. I cannot purposely replicate the problem. There are two specific problems, and they both occur at the same time - if one problem occurs, the other problem occurs. They do not occur independently. Image List (Tabs): If I have more than one thumbnail image in the tabs row of the image list, only one of those images is visibly displayed. It may be the fifth image tab, the first one, or the twentieth image in the row. The areas where the tabs exist are blank, but I can click on a blank area where the tabs are usually visible, and an image I created will appear on the canvas. But, the order of images is not accurate. If I click on the active tab (blue highlighted tab) with an image, it will not be the correct image that displays on the canvas - it will be the one next to it on the tab list. The drop down list of tabbed images are visible and can be accurately used to load the images on the canvas. Layers Window: If an image has layers, only one of the images in the layer list appears and the checkbox is not checked. If I click in the checkbox, the red check mark appears, but the image on the canvas is toggled off. I can click in the blank areas of the layer list, and the image in that area displays (if it is the top image in the layer list, of course.) I can copy and paste it on a new canvas. If more than one image on the tab list has layers and I switch to a different tabbed image, the Layers Window gets stuck displaying the previous list. If I toggle it on and off, it doesn't switch to the active image. Today, I was able to close the problematic tab by guessing, and I was able to use the interface without problems. I have been using Paint.net for several years now on different Windows computers starting with Windows 7. I have been using it without too much trouble until this past year. I installed a Beta version a year or two ago, and started having problems with the app freezing and then shutting down. That problem still occurs, but not as often, and there is no error message. About a year ago, I uninstalled the Beta build and then reinstalled the regular build from the Microsoft Store.
