Floating tool boxes are missing distinct window border

Recommended Posts

I have a 2 monitor setup and always work with multiple windows and not full screen.

With the late updates of paint.net the floating tool boxes became very hard to recognize.

They are missing a distinct window border and thus melt with other windows on the background (see attachment)

I tried the black UI scheme but this is too dark.

Is there a way to get a proper window border on the tool boxes?

Microsoft won't let you have actual window borders anymore, but I noticed your windows don't have "shadows"

like mine do in Windows 10. There's a well-hidden setting in Windows 10 that might help the visibility:

Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings (link on left side) > Performance "Settings"

button > Checkbox for "Show shadows under windows".
