Sharp
So, you know how we have the image umbrella thing for signatures, photo manip, etc.? I was thinking we should have something like that for the tutorial section. So if your looking for a signature tut, theres one thread with links to a bunch of different sig tuts. pipp92
but what would you do if your tut is not matching in one of the umbrellas? Quote Personal Gallery
david.atwell
It's been suggested about once a month for the past two years. Nobody has yet presented a good method of doing it. What's your idea? Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
Ash
If I understand correctly, I think Sharp means. Make the threads with links in them only, not the actual tutorial. That is not a bad idea.... Quote All creations Ash + Paint.NET [ Googlepage | deviantArt | Club PDN | PDN Fan ]
007 Nab
Subforums might work too, I think. Quote "pyrochild, you're my favorite person ever. We should go snowboarding some time."~ 007 Nab. Ish. PDN Gallery | I Made a Deviant Art!
david.atwell
Yes, but how would we arrange subfora? Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... david.atwell
I mean, keep going. What subfora? Which umbrellas? How would they be categorized? 007 Nab
I think I'm getting confused... We could have it like a copy of our current Pictorium, where Stickies are the Umbrellas (Photo manip, reaslitic, etc.) and the rest could be misc. tuts that don't necessarily fit a scheme. Or if you wanted entirely separate subforums, which is what I was thinking before, just apply what I listed "board index...etc." Quote "pyrochild, you're my favorite person ever. david.atwell
You're not understanding. I'm asking you- what sections would you make? You keep giving examples - which sections would you make? Specifically, I mean. That's what it always comes back to, see. :-) Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... 007 Nab
Aha  As "umbrellas": (Red are stickied) (a) Board index » Paint.NET Discussion » Tutorials » (A possible branch between 100% PDN/ not) Abstract Images Image Manipulation Interfaces Realistic Images Signatures, Avatars, Logos & Text Miscellaneous tutorials - or tutorial guideline/ guide tutorials ^^These would link to links As Subforums: ( Board index » Paint.NET Discussion » Tutorials » (A possible branch between 100% PDN/ not) Abstract Images  (leads to actual tutorial threads) Image Manipulation  (leads to actual tutorial threads) Interfaces  (leads to actual tutorial threads) Realistic Images  (leads to actual tutorial threads) Signatures, Avatars, Logos & Text  (leads to actual tutorial threads) Miscellaneous tutorials  (leads to actual tutorial threads) ^^These would link to actual tutorial threads Am I right? (This is what you were looking for?) I think if we took option B, it would be very long and painful to move those tutorials that preexist. You'd probably want to say "From now on..." Option A might get confusing (with all those links, unless they were clear and newbie friendly) [/My thoughts] Quote "pyrochild, you're my favorite person ever.
