Well, if I were to submit my two cents worth, I would say that it's all just superstition. I mean, look at 6/06/2006 (which just so happened to be an interesting prom night for me). Nothing bad happened then, right?

But if I were to be historically and scientifically critical about it, I do know that we are a bit overdue for an ice age. And that we often come into close contact with asteroids that are about 30 meters in diameter every two years (link). And the Mayan calendar does end at 2012 (But I take that to be superstition).

Who knows? In less than four years, perhaps the people over in Switzerland will advance the LHC so well that it creates a stailized black hole and kill us all. Or a corrupt scientist might try to use it improperly to find God

Or perhaps the Olympic torch will fall off its pedestal in London and cause a raging fire which would destroy London and destroy a nuclear facility, causing the spread of radiation

Forgive me for the negatives in the post. I'm simply stating facts I know (except for the last bit. That was a joke.)

They think the world will end on 12/12/12.

Why is everything focused around America these days . Its soo annoying, name one disaster movie where New York or Chicago or LA doesn't get destroyed. Why is the end of the world focused around American presidents, if anything China should be the country producing anti-Christs.

If you do the math, If for every 4 billion people there is 1 anti-Christ born. There is allot higher chance that China or India will produce one than the U.S.A. Come on people be realistic, the whole world doesnt revolve around you guys

But anyways, the Christian Bible mentions something about a mark on the (right I think) arm and the forehead and supposedly they are gonna have a system were there is a chip in your body at those places and it is like a credit card and the ONLY way of cunducting transactions. I have also heard somebody say that the antichrist was supposed to be born on the 06/06/2006 (so my school had a whole special thing on that day, but then again they also refused to teach us about evolution because it does not go together with Christianity very well)

As for the so-called "end" of the world, i think some of it is true such as natural disasters, crime etc. increasing. But, the world actually coming to an end, i don't think so. I think its a hoax so that they can make money out of it by selling "end of the world" merchandise.
