Image background transparency not detected

Recommended Posts

So when I get a transparent image from google, I put it in paint.net, and it is not transparent, It is showing the canvas gray and white thing. My background is red, but the transparancy isn't detected. If you guys could help it would be much appreciated. (Also when I put the paint bucket on the transparency, it won't do translucent layers, so please do other methods than the paintbucket on transparent layer method.)

It makes me angry to think why they would post a transparent image fake.

Slow down there @Ohgodmanyo. I'm sure the image wasn't intended to deceive. Had they posted a transparent image, the transparency would have been invisible when you viewed it. By adding the gray & white checkerboard they indicate that those areas will be transparent when you download the image.

The trick here is to download the image and not use right-click + copy.
