WhiskeySloth Posted May 27, 2020 Share Posted May 27, 2020 hello, my parents got me a laptop to do schoolwork on and i wanted to download paint.net. as it is a work laptop it does not have a lot of memory or space so my parents got me a hard drive. i tried to directly install it on the hard drive but it wont let me continue. it only lets me install it on the main computer. i tried trouble shooting it and it says it is not compatible but when i try to install it it just says not enough space. i am confused someone please help. This is the current minimum for system specs: https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/SystemRequirements.html Is your system above these minimums? You can see the specs differ slightly depending on which version you're installing. Which are you trying to install? If you can post the actual error message you see when trying to install that will help us diagnose the problem. Rick Brewster Posted May 27, 2020 Share Posted May 27, 2020 You can't install Paint.NET to an external disk, whether it's a USB stick or a hard drive. This is blocked by the installer because it caused all sorts of problems. It was really a complete disaster.
