Text Format in two Pictures

Hi

i think i have found a Bug.

Paint Version: 4.2.10

 

  1. Open two Pics
  2. Add a text with the text tool in pic 1
  3. switch to pic 2
  4. add in pic 2, text with the text tool too.
  5. Change the format of the text in pic 2
  6. In pic 1 the text fomat changes too. --> That isn't right.

 

I have create a video. unfortunatly you can't see the mouse.

I do not know if that is a bug, I think it has always been like that. The shapes too, the line tool and the paint tool also behave in the same manner.

Hello @CK1 and Welcome to the forum :)

 

You have to put the text on a new layer.  Do not try to overwrite the text on the white background layer.  Always use a new, transparent layer.  Then when you are happy with the result you can flatten.

I followed @CK1's steps and can see why he thinks it's a bug.  I didn't realize that he had two windows open.  Surely the text in black on the left side, shouldn't change to red?

Thank you for this video Pixey. I dont know why you cant see the mouse pointer in my video.

The video of pixey describes exactly the problem and i think it is a bug.

" I think it has always been like that"  --> That doesn't mean it's not a bug.

Expected behaviour. 

Just good practice of Ctrl +D or Finish :CommitButton:before switching canvases
