TooOld
I'm brain dead today 'cause I can't find how to take the first image and make it like the second image . I've done it many times in the past but just can't seem to find it today . Edited March 29, 2020 by TooOld
IHaveNoName
PDN "Layers" button > Rotate/Zoom menu > tick the Tiling box and adjust the Zoom slider down from 1.00. That can be done with the mouse wheel too.
Zagna
You could use Rotate/Zoom (Ctrl+Shift+Z) with less than 1 zoom and tiling.

MJW
A plugin by Red Ochre called (for some reason) aardvark can also be used. The advantage is that it has antialiasing, which can improve the appearance of the shrunk-down images. My own Paste From Clipboard plugin can also tile (using an image in the clipboard), and also supports antialiasing.
