nonarkitten
I have an RGBW monitor and cleartype is terrible. Paint.net seems to support GDI override and/or cleartext settings for rendering of the fonts, but the GUI itself is still a mess with artifacts that resemble an old Apple II. I've disabled system clear type. I've installed mactype and paint.net insists on using stock Windows cleartype. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/671896035622387725/691703306745151558/IMG_0457.JPG Edited March 23, 2020 by nonarkitten
toe_head2001
RGBW monitors (and TVs) are terrible, and should be removed from the market. They are a borderline scam. If you're working on images/photos/video, RGBW is a very poor choice, because it can't accurately display the colors of your content. The Mactype software injects itself into the DIrect2D stack of Windows, and can cause Paint.NET to crash. Quote (September 25th, 2023) Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue. My Gallery | My Plugin Pack Layman's Guide to CodeLab
Rick Brewster
Paint.NET respects the system setting for ClearType. So just disable it there. However, if you're using MacType, then I have no idea. Watch out -- it has been known to cause Paint.NET to crash. Ultimately if you're using MacType then you need to ask them these questions, not us.
