HELEN
I took Visual Basic 6.0 as a junior in college (that was two years ago); it was "learn-on-your-own" type class. Basically, my professor said, "Read the book, do the exercises and assignments at the end of the chapter, and hand that in at the end of the semester." We used the Shelly Cashman book. Unfortunately, I felt that class was just a waste , even though I enjoyed it. I can't write my own VB code or manipulate it. I know some PDN users might be familiar with VB 6, so are there any tips out there how I can learn to write my OWN code? I can't afford taking any classes now. So, maybe some tips on how you learned Visual Basic and how you started writing codes. Simon Brown
If you wish to learn VB6.0: http://www.vbtutor.net/vbtutor.html If you wish to learn the newer VB.NET: http://www.java2s.com/Tutorial/VB/CatalogVB.htm Google is your friend.
HELEN
I'll look into that, but will I be able to write my own code after? Simon Brown
I'll look into that, but will I be able to write my own code after? Hopefully. A very stupid question, but I gather you have a copy of a VB compiler?
HELEN
I have the VB 6 CD, so I guess I do. I can write the code and let it run, if that's what you mean. I kind of feel I was cheated with my education, so some things I'm unsure about. HELEN
Yes, I do. I think I just need to re-learn Visual Basic. HELEN
That's what I'll be doing for a couple of days and re-reading the book and redoing the assignments. So tedious, but I have to make myself do that. If I have any questions, could you help me? Simon Brown
If I have any questions, could you help me? I cannot program in VB6, but I will try.
pyrochild
vbCity.com would probably be a better place to seek help with Visual Basic. They have a very knowledgeable community for VB6, VB.NET, and even C#. Quote ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it!
