olavrb
I don't own a ARM64 Windows 10 device yet, but if I ever got one I'd be very glad if Paint.NET could run natively on it. Would it be possible to compile Paint.NET to ARM64 without too much hassle for you developers? Maybe release it in Microsoft Store only. I've already payed for the store version and I love it. I very much like auto updates + supporting the Paint.NET developers at the same time.
Rick Brewster
Paint.NET cannot be compiled for ARM64 right now because Microsoft's Visual C++ compiler does not support compiling C++/CLI for it. Hopefully someday but I wouldn't get your hopes up. It's out of my control. Until then you have to use the 32-bit x86 version, which will run emulated (and yes you can get it from the Store!). I'm told it runs well. 1 Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
fyrstormer
Then can you compile a 32-bit ARM version so we at least don't have to use slow x86-to-ARM emulation?
Rick Brewster
Not until I've ported it all to .NET Core, which isn't happening until next year sometime Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
