digital signature is not valid

Recommended Posts

If you're specifying MSI properties then the .MSI file has those baked in and it will invalidate the digital signature.

A normal installation, with the EXE, will use the unmodified MSI files and these do have a valid digital signature. You can see for yourself if you 1) boot up the installer, 2) leave it alone once it gets to the first part of the wizard (where it asks "Quick" vs "Custom") and then 3) navigate to %TEMP%\PdnSetup and find the *.MSI files.

I really don't recommend using MSI/GPO deployment if you can. It's much better to use the EXE.
