Cartwheel76
I wasn't very smart and deleted it from program files by simply deleting it, I attempted to redownload PDN, but it popped up the vague 1603 fatal error message. PDN is also stuck in the control panel uninstall program, any attempt to repair or uninstall it from their doesn't do anything. E: Solved! thank you Mr. Head Edited December 22, 2019 by Cartwheel76
toe_head2001
Use this utility to remove the broken installation: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed Afterwards, you can install paint.net anew. 1 Quote (September 25th, 2023) Sorry about any broken images in my posts. IHaveNoName
In future prevent the need for that tool by using a purpose designed uninstaller like Revo. That uses any program's uninstaller or, as in PDN's case when they do not have a one , the basic Windows add/remove program tool. But then it will search for and remove leftovers ie. registry entries, Program Data and AppData files/folders which are the usual cause of these reinstall problems. It also puts in a restore point before doing anything which means you could always roll it back if you wanted. Doing that yourself ie. manually putting in a restore point before uninstalling a program should be standard practice anyway.
