Tool is stuck!

Recommended Posts

Hi, I cannot change my cursor / tool in Paintnet. When i open the program the tool is the plus sign (+, but with 4 arrows at the tips), and I am unable to change it to any other tool.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, re-started, and cleared my cache. No luck.

I have been using PaintNet for a very long time, never ever had an issue.

Any idea's?

So what happens when you try to change to a different tool?

Or is your Tools window just missing?

(September 25th, 2023)  Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue.

Have you got one of the Move tools set as the default tool? MoveToolIcon.192.png or MoveSelectionToolIcon.192.png will give you this cursor IconMoveCursor.png Is that what you're seeing?

To change the default tool, see this page: https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/SettingsDialog.html. The second tab in the Settings dialog (Tools) gives you the option of setting the default tool
