TinyPic Shut Down

On September 16, 2019, TinyPic.com will go offline.  If you have an account with them, go login and download your images before the 16th.

TinyPic has already stopped serving images to other websites, so you may see this sad-face image here on the forum:

goodbye

Popular alternatives include: Postimage.org and Imgur.

Or better yet, host the images on a domain you yourself control. It's just a matter of time before your chosen service goes offline too (or goes pay only... ImageShack ... Photobucket).

Oh, and by the way, TinyPic is owned by Photobucket.

Luckily I didn't have anything on TinyPic, but thanks for the information.

I notice that Photobucket have a more reasonable price now, only $4.99/month. I joined, but see that they plaster their name over the image, so I will be cancelling asap!

You have a better deal @welshblue on your Broadband.  We pay $106 a month for TV/Cable, phones and Broadband.  We miss Sky TV - they were much more reasonable and a better quality of service IMHO :)

For ~$6.00 per month you can get a domain name, email accounts, and ~15 GB of file storage and you can then store and host your own images. That is what I have done for years. One month of web hosting for the price of a fast food meal, and its better for the waist line! 🙂

BTW:

I just found out moments ago, that as a subscriber to Amazon Prime, I get unlimited storage of my images. I just opened my free account and created a folder to which I loaded some test images. I was able to copy the image location and paste it into a different browser and view the image. This opens up other possibilities for image sharing and posting.

I too am an Amazon Prime member, does this storage include everything, or just images? I guess I should look into it..

My cell phone (iPhone 6S+, unlimited data/text/talk/etc. AT&T) is $91

Internet (most basic plan, 12Mbps/1Mbps AT&T) $52

I'm pretty cheap in tech stuff. My internet (50Mbps/25Mbps) is $45 per month. My cell phone (Android) costs me about $100 per year, as I use tracfone.

My main PC desktop (i7) is 8 years old and I only paid $500 for it. My Laptop (i3) is 10 years old. I run Linux on everything and is obviously free.

I pay £34 per month for mobile, Galaxy S10 (26GB / unlimited calls & Text) and £36 per month for broadband (200GB)  i no longer have sky / bt or any other subscription service due to rip off prices.

@welshblue I'm not 100% sure, but goggle photos lets you share images / generate links, you just need to make a new album (Though I haven't tried it)
