Rick Brewster
So in Paint.NET v4 I'm planning on having the "settings" dialog finally. I was hoping to never need one, but there's just enough settings that people want to tweak that it makes sense now. Here are the settings I'm planning for, just off the top of my head: * Configure the default Save As... file type (PNG vs. JPG, etc.)* Ability to disable "force thumbnail view" mode in WinXP.* Of course, I'll merge the "Choose Tool Defaults" and the updater settings into there.* And yes there will be a plugin/add-in manager. What other things in Paint.NET would you like the ability to configure? bEPIK
If configurable shortcut keys aren't included (or even they are) could there be a dropdown box which has the option to have Paint.NET's, Photoshop's and Gimp's default shortcuts. I think that would help a lot of the people moving from/using other popular programs. Just a thought... Water, Wood and Hair Tutorial
david.atwell
I think that would be a bit of overkill. Configurable shortcut keys would be great, but I don't think we need to ape other programs since we don't necessarily do anything like the other programs do. Now, what I would like is the ability to assign a shortcut key to a plugin. It would also be nice to set not only the default filetype, but also the default filetype settings (i.e. bitrate, color depth, etc.). The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
Max Power
I don't know if this belongs in here but how about this: -When you copy paste an image in PdN, it will automatically appear on a new layer. - New options when copy pasting, additionally to "Keep canvas size" and "Enlarge Canvas", "Resize image to fit in canvas" (stretching) and "Resize image to fit in canvas with aspect ratio". - My Gallery | My Deviant -

tails8762
- When pasting something that has transprency in an existing layer, the transparency doesn't overwrite what's behind it. - Have a more adjustable Anti-Alias for brushes and the eraser. -- On the topic of, don't have the Brushs' Anti-Alias settings the same as the Eraser's. - When zooming with the Mouse-wheel, zoom in/out by 10% exactly. NB: "tails8762" is an old name that I don't go by anymore, but whatever.
Rick Brewster
It would also be nice to set not only the default filetype, but also the default filetype settings (i.e. bitrate, color depth, etc.). Paint.NET already remembers the last settings for each file type -- I'm not sure I see how a section in the Settings would improve that. - When pasting something that has transprency in an existing layer, the transparency doesn't overwrite what's behind it. That's what layers are for. Just paste into a new layer. Leif
I use the Bezier curve 99% of the time. So I would very much like a setting to choose between: 1. as now. 2. Always Bezier. 3 Always normal. Max Power
Is it possible to define how many nubs you want if you use the Line/Curve tool? And to define the relation of the size of the arrowhead to the arrowline? Sometimes the arrowhead is to big to harmonize with the line. heythere
That might apply to Microsoft's .NET framework. Remember, it (most likely) is a MenuStrip Control, and menuitems have been edited. Those may be .NET components. Stephan
If you are going to natively implement brushes, to select the brush you want to start with. I don't know if this has been mentioned, but perhaps also a default prim/sec colour picker.
