Editing text and images

Recommended Posts

I am a new user. I have a PNG book cover that needs to be resized and fit into a template (also PNG.) How do I remove unwanted material from template and insert my cover image?

The guides and text should be on their own layer. Hide each layer by unchecking the checkbox beside it in the Layers Window.

In order to make your image fit the format of a template, you may have to do more than resize. You may have to also crop your image. If you resize and not maintain the aspect ratio, your image will be pulled or compressed in a way that will distort the image.

Since your template is a PNG and does not provide layers for text and guidelines: I assume that it is provided as a form factor for your project and is not ment to have 'materials' moved, but as a reference for dimensions and constructing your own project.

EER's advice is good information for you in constructing your new project!
