Laptop tutorial?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if there was a tutorial on how to create a laptop in PDN. I have looked everywhere.. youtube, here, random google searches, other PDN boards and I have come up empty. I'm just curious to know what a laptop could look like in PDN.

Thanks,

Mackenzie

Hi @mackenzieh here is a Photoshop tutorial which should be easy enough to do in paint.net:

https://www.sitepoint.com/create-sleek-stylish-laptop-and-monitor-mockups-in-photoshop/

At Step 8 you could use this tutorial for the circle.

And, for the metal around the edge, you would have to make a frame and perhaps use  bevel and then Metalize.

Greetings Mackenzie,

Drafting an object in Paint.NET is comparable to drafting an object in any other medium, wither it is digital or traditional! The level of style and precision would depend upon the artist executing the project. Pixey's link is a great starting resource!

Here's my attempt at the laptop:

It's not the best but I tried. I used Welshblue's smartphone tutorial for the top, then I used Welblue's metal button tutorial for the webcam button, and the laptop tutorial from the site.

You could also 'cheat' a bit (PDN is an image editor after all ...)

Take a picture like this

and turn it into something like this
