I've fixed the issues that were reported in the thread for 4.1.5 beta build 6895, particularly the "checkerboard" rendering problems, and have made some further improvements.   In particular, I've optimized a portion of the rendering engine to make better use of newer CPU instruction sets (SSE2, SSSE3, and AVX2).
