Change the text

Recommended Posts

I have a pdn file to edit.

I would like to change the reading Ing.Tf to IT

I don't know how to cover the original letters with white to see the letters deleted or how to draw a white rectangle covering those letters.

I have try without good results.

My version is recently last updated.

The file in my google drive :

The letters and the background are on separate layers. Just select and delete the old letters, and then type the new ones.

As @toe_head2001 says - Use the Rectangle Select Tool over the Ing.TF (on the Images background layer) >>> Press Delete >>> Add a New Layer >>> Type IT

The font is Calibri

Yes the font is Calibri at 72pts to match the existing upper case TF lettering.

I prefer to do this sort of thing in two separate layers above the existing text later so you can line up the replacement text over the old text position more easily.

So just add two new layers; in the lower one first do what welshblue said: simply draw a solid white rectangle over the background letters. In fact you'll probably need to make that two rectangles to avoid clipping the graphic on the right.

Next in the top layer chose Text and use Calibri 72pt upper-case to type "IT". Line it up by temporarily unticking the white rectangle(s) layer below to expose the old text. Once lined up re-tick that layer and that is it.

Resullt should be this:-

Thanks. My problem is I use paint.net eventually and don't remember how to activate the tool layers.

Reading your answers I try to activate from the right upper icons and finally i see.....

Best Regards
