Transferring Data

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! It's me.

So I have a question. I recently just bought the Windows Store paint.net because paint.net has given me life for years now, and even though I could have the free version, why not spend my expiring microsoft credit on paint.net?

Can I transfer data from my other paint.net to the windows store version?

thanks a lot.

What do you mean by "Data"?

Your settings? Installed Plugins? Something else?

To install plugins in the Windows Store paint.net:

All plugins can be transferred but there isn't really a good way to transfer settings.

Settings are stored in the registry, and Windows Store apps use of the registry is virtualized. You can't really get in or out of the sandbox.

I would need to add a feature, like a button or a command-line parameter, to export and import the settings.
