tysmvm Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Paint.net has never lagged me because I normally only use pretty low resolution images but as soon as I installed the new version of paint.net I TONS of lag even when only on a 16x16 canvas with 1 layer! I am extremely confused as to why this is Quote
tysmvm Posted October 9, 2018 Author Posted October 9, 2018 I also just found out that my shortcuts half the time don't work and the rectangle select wont work at all Quote
Ego Eram Reputo Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Sounds like there is something broken with your installation. In the first instance, try running pdnrepair.exe (you'll find it in you pdn folder). Please report back if you're still having issues. 1 Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
Roly Poly Goblinoli Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 (edited) I get a 4-5 second delay when rendering an adjustment or effect with a complex selection on a big canvas (in my case, 1693 x 2346). It seems like an issue introduced in the most recent version of paint.net because it didn't occur before (used to be a half-second), and the preview for the same effect runs in realtime without lag. Not sure if there's a good remedy for it, or if it's a sacrifice we make to support JSON selections. Edited October 10, 2018 by Joshua Lamusga Quote
Pixey Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I too am having intermittent problems/lags with opening that latest update, as well as using the Rectangle Select which sometimes takes 2 - 3 tries. Of course, when I try to capture this it works perfectly ?
