jjpivotz
I went to save a file, and when the Save Configuration window opened, it got stuck on the 'Finishing...' thing, with the green bar looping. It's been stuck like this for about half an hour, now. I am on a Windows 10 computer, most recent version of Paint.NET The file is a PNG, image size is 1422x1000, file size is 1.7 MB In Paint.NET there are two images opened, including the one I'm trying to save. I am trying to save it to my Dropbox folder, and the only antivirus' I have open are Avast. I've never had this problem before under the same or very similar conditions. EDIT: In case this is important, the save settings are default I think. Pixey
Hi @jjpivotz and Welcome When you say 'trying to save it to my Dropbox folder' is that on your computer, or are you trying to save it directly to Dropbox? You also say you have two images opened, including the one you want to save. Make sure the other layer you don't want to save, is off ...... unchecked. Then flatten as Save As .png or .jpg, or whatever. jjpivotz
@Pixey I mean on my computer. And when I said I have two images opened, I didn't mean as separate layers. The image I'm trying to save is already flattened The second image, a separate file, is up top. That one already saved just fine.
Pixey
Can you stop PDN without losing the image? It sounds like it's hanging and you will have to come out of PDN. It could be a memory problem as the file is quite large. jjpivotz
I don't think I can. I'll most likely lose the file if I close it
Pixey
I don't think you can get out of it any other way, I'm afraid. But someone else on here may read this and offer more help. Good Luck! toe_head2001
I seem to remember someone mentioning that they were still able to 'Copy Merged' while stuck on Finishing. That's one way to prevent the loss of data. 1) Copy Merged (Ctrl+Shift+C) 2) End the paint.net process. 3) Open paint.net 4) Paste in New Image (Ctrl+Alt+V) Quote My Gallery | My Plugin Pack Layman's Guide to CodeLab
Rick Brewster
When this happens, the file is sadly lost. There is a bug that I've been tracking for awhile where an error gets thrown away and the background thread doesn't notify the UI thread (or something like that). (FWIW this is a very rare occurrence) Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
