/createMsi command-line parameter issue

Recommended Posts

When using the /createMsi command-line parameter stated in Unattended Installation guideline. The resulting MSI (x86 and x64) packages have invalid signatures. If you go to properties->Digital Signatures->General, it states "This digital signature is not valid." I have attached a screenshot of the error. Any help in resolving this error would be appreciated.

Regards,
Adam

I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to work. You generated those .msi files (albeit with the tools provided in installer). Therefore, the signatures shouldn't be valid.

I fail to see why this matters. Since you generated the files, you know they're legitimate.

The msi files should only be used for your (or your organization's) own use, and not redistributed.

The MSI is patched to include the parameters or MSI properties that you specify. Of course that's going to invalidate the digital signature :)
